Find Ways to Make Extra Money Writing Online

Find Ways to Make Extra Money Writing Online

by Cari Webbe

If you're looking for ways to make extra money, then the chances are you know how to write. I don't mean that you have to be a great writer, or that you've necessarily written for any websites or publications before. All I mean is that you can write in at least a basic way and, more importantly, you have a passion that you'd like to write about.

How to Earn Cash From Your Writing

There are many ways to make money from your writing, but if you've got no experience then the high-paying magazine and blogging jobs are probably out of your reach. But that doesn't mean you can't earn money writing.

There are a number of websites that allow anyone to register and start writing articles about anything. This literally means anything you enjoy, whether it's something you've studied, movies you love, books you've read, tips you've learned- just about anything that you enjoy or have knowledge of!

Why Use HubPages?

HubPages is one of these writing websites, and one of the best ways to make extra money from writing. It lets authors join from around the world and create articles, or what they call 'Hubs'. Each Hub or article is focused around one topic and ranges in length. It can even include pictures, videos, links and related products.

The main reason for writing for this website is that you get paid for it! HubPages puts ads around your writing, and if users click on them or buy the products, you'll get paid directly! All it takes is to sign up with the ad networks to ensure you'll get paid.

The more you right, the greater your chances of getting paid will be! It always takes time to build a good amount of income, but once you do it can pay off for months and years to come. This is why HubPages is one of the best ways to make extra money. - 20490

I'm a writer looking for (http://www.webcareergirl.com/what-ive-discovered-after-writing-almost-100-hubs-at-hubpages.html) ways to make extra money with HubPages, as well as writing for private clients. I've learnt a lot in the year I've worked online full-time, so just visit my site at (http://www.webcareergirl.com/) Web Career Girl to find out more or ask any questions.

Number of Work At Home Employees To Continue Increasing In 2009

Number of Work At Home Employees To Continue Increasing In 2009

by Kay Whittenhauer

The concept of getting a job right out of high school and retiring from the same job became antiquated in the mid-1980s. Sensing this, American workers began exploring other options. Today, working at home, via the Internet, is a growing trend that shows no signs of stopping.

The US Census Bureau reports that 2.3% of workers worked at home in 1980, compared to 15.1% in 2004 (the last year that data is available, reported by the US Department of Labor, Bureau of Statistics). This is an increase of more than 650%, in less than 25 years.

Many factors account for the rising popularity of working at home. The most significant is, undoubtedly, the dawning of the Computer Age. In the early 1900's the US economy shifted from agricultural to industrial. With the advent of personal computers and the Internet, the economy is now shifting from industrial to "technological". The term "Technology Economy" is favored by many, but "Information Economy" and "Creative Economy" are used as well.

Traditionally, work-at-home wage earners opted for the "industrial" route: providing services (taking in laundry, ironing, or providing baby-sitting), or selling manufactured goods (Stanley Tools, Mary Kay, and Tupperware; to name a few) or crafting hand-made items.

Today, Information Technology, namely the Internet, has made working at home a viable and sensible alternative for wage earners.

Many corporations are offering the option of reducing the number of work days at the office, and replacing those days with working at home. Some corporate positions (like customer service representatives, medical transcribers, and billing agents) are full-time work-at-home.

Opportunities abound on the Internet for those looking for part-time or freelance work. These positions are likely to pay by the job, and can be performed at any hour of the day. Workers are able to take on as much (or as little) work as they desire. While some opt for high-tech ventures like creating websites, most will use established websites (like e-Bay).

Working at home provides wage earners the opportunity to be home (with children or ailing relatives), eliminates commuting time, reduces personal expenses, and provides highly desirable flexibility.

In the coming year, economic indicators show that the price of gasoline will continue to increase, and the number of traditional industrial jobs will continue to decrease, thus fueling a continued rise in the number of work-at-home wage earners. The vast majority of work-at-home wage earners will rely on the Internet, in some form, to do business. - 20490

Work At Home And Make Money Online By Blogging

Work At Home And Make Money Online By Blogging

by Sylvester Hokes

Making money online is just a dream for many, but it doesn't have to be. There are several legitimate sources of income online, but finding them can often prove difficult, as there are many work at home scams out there. Blogging for money can be a lucrative occupation if you work hard at it. As with many jobs, the top %5 make %95 of the money.

The difference is- when you're a blogger, you're your own boss. That means that your income corresponds to your efforts. Unlike hourly and salary jobs, the harder you work, the more benefits you'll see. I've been doing this since October of 2006, and I make around 500 dollars a month for blogging part time. Other bloggers make two thousand dollars a month or more while blogging full time.

Step 1: Start A Blog

If you want to get your foot in the door on this paid blogging phenomenon, I suggest you act now. What can you do? Start by getting a blog. And a domain. Then connect them. Domain forwarding isn't all that hard once you find instructions, which are readily available online.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to getting a blog... you could try blogger.com, wordpress... well, there are a ton of options, and you may have to do a google search to make your decision. I like Blogger.com, but some people hate it. That's the beauty of computing- there are a dozen ways to do any particular thing.

Blogger.com does make it easy to forward your domain to their blog. This blog is hosted on blogger.com for free. And you will want a domain. It's best to get one right away. It should cost about 6 dollars a year- which you'll make back as soon as you start writing paid posts. Bear in mind, it takes a few months before your blog will be established enough to qualify for most paid posting programs.

This what you should take away from this section of the article: figure out what blogging platform best suits you. Pick a topic or three (or more)... make it something that you can write a lot about. Then write a post every week. Make each post fifty words or more. Have fun.

Step 2: Promoting Your Blog

Okay, so you've got yourself a blog. You've got it looking pretty much how you'd like it to look, and you've written some posts. What's next, you ask? Promotion! It's time to learn how to build up your readership and PR.

PR stands for Page Rank. It was named for the guy who invented PR. His last name was Page. He worked at Google. Google tracks the Page Rank of websites. When it comes to PR, the higher the number the better, with 10 being the best. The ranks are exponential, so a site with a PR of 4 is many times more important than a site with a PR of 3.

In order to build up your websites' PR, you've got to get inbound links to your site. There are a few ways to accomplish this:

You can leave comments on articles and blog posts, and fill in your URL if there's a field for it. Don't put your URL in the content of the comment, and make the comment worthwhile, or it may be deleted or filtered out.

You can also get inbound links to your blog/site by doing what is called link baiting. You either write a controversial post (about another blogger, maybe?) then tell them about it... or review a product, then tell the manufacturer of the product about it. If the scheme works, you will get at least the manufacturer/author to link to your blog. If you're lucky, several sites will link to your article.

You can also submit your URL to a linkdump or similar web directory. Blog carnivals are becoming a popular way to promote your blog as well.

Then there's paid search engine optimization, or SEO. Basically, you pay a company to generate links to your blog. They usually pay other site/blogs to link to your site/blog. I don't know a ton about SEO, so I assume there's more to it than that.

Regardless of how you promote your blog, don't expect results overnight, as Google only updates PR every so often. I've found that it takes about 3 months to see a movement in a site's PR.

Building your readership/traffic means the onus is on you! You've got to produce quality content that makes people want to come back to your blog for more. I really can't help you with that one. I have noticed that writing more posts seems to generate more traffic.

One last nugget of wisdom before I start the next part of this article- link to your sources! Be sure to link to any source you use for videos, ideas, etc... the authors may notice and link back to you, or even ask you to be a guest blogger. They will usually let you link to your blog in articles that you write for them, meaning you get a nice PR and traffic boost!

Step 3: Finding Advertisers

I bet you've been wondering just how you're going to generate an income with your blog. This is the big reveal. If you want to get paid to blog, this is the list of resources that will be most vital to your income stream. Now, on to the list of sites that pay you to work online using a blog:

PayPerPost

These guys are the biggest and the best. They have the most opportunities for you to advertise on your blog. They have the most advanced site, and the highest level of communications between bloggers and their staff. If you choose only one of the sites that I've listed here, you should choose this one.

blogitive

Blogitive has offers from time to time. When it rains, it pours. Sometimes, they'll push out a handful of blog ads in one day, sometimes you'll go weeks without an opportunity. Expect to write about vacation property, gold, and online education. These guys use a lot of the same advertisers over and over.

loudlaunch

This one is fairly new. The have a steady supply of ads. Most of them require a lot of writing for the money. Still, if you like to elaborate about things, this could be a decent source of revenue.

sponsoredreviews

Another new face in the paid to blog scene. I've actually made some decent money at this site. The thing that makes this site different that the rest is that you set the rate that you work for, and negotiations can occur between bloggers and advertisers. A lot of the requested reviews are wordy, but it is very much worth the money that you can make here.

bloggingads

I just signed up with this site, and I haven't done any ads for them yet, so I can't say much about them.

bloggerwave

I've only done a few ads for these guys, and they're very new. But the site is nice, and there are a few ads to be had. It takes a month between when you pot an ad for them and when you get paid. This is fairly common in the paid blogging world.

paymetoblogaboutyou

I don't even understand how this site works. It's supposed to be some sort of messaging system, but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. Good luck.

reviewme

Big money to be had here, but you've got to have a big/popular blog. None of my blogs qualify. If you are fortunate enough to run a very popular, highly ranked blog, then you can earn some serious cash here.

linkworth

Not sure how this one works- I've only done one campaign for them, and it only paid about three dollars.

smorty

Another one that I've yet to use- it's new to me!

Payu2blog

These guy pay five dollars per post, but you're assigned the posts. In other words, you don't get to pick and choose your assignments. You could be stuck writing an advertisement about crotchless panties or incontinence supplies, and this may not go well with your blog or your ethics.

creamaid

This one's odd. Basically, if you find one of their widgets, you write about it, and if your post is approved, you get paid... I've never used this one- mostly because it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I think that's all of the advertisers, and that also concludes this article. You now have all of the information that you will need to get started blogging for cash. It takes about four months between starting a new blog and seeing your first payout, so be patient and persistent - 20490

How to Blog Like a Professional

How to Blog Like a Professional

by Calvin Wapasa

Professional blogging is a new concept with plenty of potential for forward thinking individuals who possess passion, good inherent aptitudes and a fundamental knowledge of current inventions in online technology. The number of pro-bloggers remains quite tiny, and few are able to earn a living solely from blogging. Numerous people today create weblogs that bring in an adequate income to live on. The number of pro bloggers is growing by leaps and bounds, but it is tough to say whether this trend will continue.

Numerous bloggers dream of entering the sphere of pro blogging. There are very few individuals who happily devote an hour or more each day to their weblog without at least from time to time wishing that they could earn some kind of financial reward for all of their work.

Several models exist for making money with a blog, the most popular being to sell marketing space through Google's AdSense program or directly to a firm that wishes to reach the demographic that your blog appeals to. Not that many individuals, nevertheless, can earn enough of an income to live on just through marketing on their weblog.

Numerous of the people who are reading blogs are bloggers themselves because they like to observe with what other bloggers are doing with their weblogs. A good indication of this is that people who claim the most professional blogging success have actually been bloggers that write about blogging itself. The most common matter professional bloggers use is the topic of the popularity and uprise of blogging itself. Professional bloggers sometimes make use of the field of blogging itself as subject material for their weblogs.

In the future blogging will be much more complicated than it is at this time. Today's most common professional bloggers - both in terms of audience and money - are those that offer analysis concerning the blogging movement as well as advice to neophyte bloggers.

As blogging software becomes easier to use and more widely adopted, both bloggers and blog readers will be more diverse. In actuality, it is very possible that the world of blogging as a pro will start to ponder the shifts It's virtually impossible to tell what kinds of blogs will be able to make the biggest profits in the distant future. The world of pro blogging is one of constant change and flux, which is part of what makes it so exciting. - 20490

Your First Few Blog Posts

Your First Few Blog Posts

by Caroline Middlebrook

This article primarily applies if you are starting a new blog from scratch but you can also use it to prepare for a period of absence from your blog such as when you might go on holiday for example.

The golden rule is not to launch an empty blog! If you have done some planning before launching you will have an idea of what your blog is about, the major topics you will be covering and so on but your brand new readers don't know any of this. If all they see is a single introductory post then you have not given them any reason to come back to your blog again or to subscribe.

As the blog matures over time it builds a collection of posts and there are many ways in which you can use these to encourage new visitors to subscribe but you don't have this advantage when you first start a new blog.

Write 6 Posts (roughly) in Advance

The trick is to compromise - I recommend writing about half a dozen posts in advance. In this way when you launch your readers have a nice selection of posts to read and hopefully you will have given them enough reason to remember you and to subscribe to your feed.

Later in the article I'll show you how to manage the timing of these intial posts but for now just get them written. Now let's talk about what you should write about in those early posts.

Write An Introduction To Yourself

A good start for the first post or two is to write some kind of introduction to yourself. You can discuss who you are and how you came to be writing this blog. Some blog styles are more receptive to this kind of personal information than others but all blogs can benefit from a human touch as it reminds readers that there is a real human being behind the writing.

Don't Make it ALL About You!

Unless your blog happens to be all about you and your life, you want to be careful not to go overboard here - don't make those first few posts all about you! Only those with a particular interest in you will find it interesting and you come back to the problem of not demonstrating what your blog is about.

By all means take a couple of posts to give a bit of personal background but then use your remaining ones to create some good quality content that centers on some of the major topics that your blog will cover. Ask yourself if what you are writing is likely to encourage people to come back for more.

Using the WordPress Timestamp Feature

If you are using WordPress to write your blog, when you publish a blog post it will immediately appear live on your blog. However there is an option to allow you to edit the timestamp of the post.

You can use this timestamp feature in one of two ways. Firstly when you are writing your initial posts as I have described in this article, you may well write them all at the same time but you want to make it look as though you have written over perhaps a week or two. You can set the timestamps in the past to backdate them so it looks like your blog has been active for a while.

You can also set the dates in the future and what this does it schedules your post for future publication. This is especially useful if you know you are going to be away for a while and wont be able to publish posts live. - 20490

Using Very Simple SEO Tricks

Using Very Simple SEO Tricks

by Hass67

Search engine optimization (SEO) is thought to be tough, difficult and time consuming by many. In this article, you can learn a few very simple SEO tricks that work very well on Google. Use these tricks to get your blog post ranked for a particular keyword.

If that keyword has 50-100 searches daily that means a good traffic to your blog daily. Using these simple tricks, many of my blog posts have top ranking for a number of keywords on Google. This gives my blog lots of traffic.

But before these trick starts working, you need to have at least 50 posts on your blog. Once your blog post reach more than 50, Google will start considering you a serious blogger.

Google likes fresh content. Since blogs provide fresh content to Google on daily basis. Google indexes blog posts much faster than webpages. If you are posting at least once everyday, your blog will get priority with Googlebot and it will index the post (in most cases) in 15 minutes.

Choose a keyword that you want to get your blog post ranked before writing the post. It is very important that you use that keyword in the title of that post.

The first sentence of the post should contain that keyword. Use that keyword in the post a number of times. But the keyword density should not be more than 4% in the content.

Use that keyword as anchor text for a link three or four times in the post. Bold the link. Use the keyword in the URL of that post like http:// www. Yourdomain.com/keyword, you can easily do this in both wordpress and blogger.

In case of blogger, you cannot change the URL of the post after you have published the post. So use the keyword in the title. Publish the post. Edit and change the title again if you want. But it should still contain the keyword.

This way you are telling Google; hey this is the keyword for this post. I have used these simple tricks for getting top ranking for keywords having 100,000 to 1000,000 competing webpages. - 20490

How Does Adwords Work?

Merchants are always looking for a new and great marketing option to get their products and services into the public's eye.

Google has extended its very own marketing prospect for merchants to take advantage of. (http://www.adword-s.com) adwords is Google's exact promotion program that will assist find products plus services noticed despite the fact that people are discovering the web.

Basically, Adwords allows for the merchant to link their product to specific key word searches so that when a person types in a specific key word or phrase their advertisement will pop up.

This ensures that your advertisement is showing up when visitors are searching for related topics. That means that the persons who are seeing the product or service that the trader is promoting are visitors who are already attracted in that topic.

Another great thing about Adwords is that the merchant gets to design the ad themselves. That means that you can have control over what the specific wording should be, how the ad should look, and where it is place.

A businesses image is everything, and advertisements are a big part of that image. Having control on that image is well worth the price of placing and advertisement with Google's Adwords program! - 20490

Affiliate Marketing Business - 3 Main Reasons To Get Started Now

by Kylon Trower

Starting an affiliate marketing business is one of the fastest ways to earn money online. It is also one of the simplest ways for you to profit on the internet without having a website.

Affiliate Marketing is really just a simple agreement between you (affiliate) and a site owner (merchant) where they allow you to sell the products on their site for a percentage of the sales commission.

With that, let's outline the benefits you can take advantage of as an affiliate marketer. I'll share three of the main reasons affiliate marketing has appealed to millions around the globe and may appeal to you as well.

1. As an affiliate you don't have to track any of the sales that take place at the merchants website. By having a unique link (with your account attached to it) you can earn immediately by having a customer click your affiliate link and be redirected to the merchant's website to buy that particular product. When they do, you earn a commission, it's that simple.

2. Secondly, starting an affiliate marketing business is a wonderful way to earn money from the comfort of your home. With virtually no production costs, you are simply left to market for new customers and drive them to click your link. Since the merchant has already created and tested the the website for sales conversions and effectiveness, you don't have to worry about any of these start up costs. You can simply choose a product (an there are literally thousands to choose from) and get started immediately.

3. Finally, there is no sales experience required to get going. Many affiliate programs provide excellent support and training to their new affiliate marketers. The simplicity of an affiliate marketing business allows you to get started with little cost and minimal risk. Many have built million dollar affiliate marketing businesses right from their kitchen tables.

Here's the bottom line: The greatest benefit of starting an affiliate marketing business is the income you can create very quickly and virtually on auto-pilot once it's set up. I earned over two thousand dollars as an affiliate marketer in a single day by using some simple strategies on social networking sites that were absolutely free.

Blogging Website Traffic - Give And Take

John DeLellis

Blogging traffic is a give and take relationship.

Sometimes one of the best ways to get traffic to your

blog is by visiting someone else's blog.

Go to their blog and read one of their entries, or

read a few of them. Chances are that you are going to

find something that you have in common.

When you find something that you find truly

interesting on a blog, leave a comment so that they

know that you were there.

One of the best known blogs available is LiveJournal.

A great feature of LiveJournal is that you can search

for interests on their site and it will come up with

results of those who have that interest.

Are you interested in horseback riding? You can see

what other bloggers are interested in horseback riding

as well.

When you are commenting on someone's post, you want to

make sure that you don't leave generic comment. If you

like the post, say something about what you read in

the post.

After you have commented on the person's post, then

you can say something like, 'I really like horseback

riding too. I had a similar experience to yours.' and

then use it to link back to your journal.

But be sure that you sound sincere when you are

commenting, and don't make them feel like you're just

fishing for traffic.

If someone thinks that you are using their blog to get

more traffic to yours, they won't visit your site and

your efforts will be wasted.

Blogging Web Sites A Great Idea is No Longer Enough

John DeLellis

Because there are so many blogs and web sites about

blogs on the internet, it can be tough to distinguish your

blogging web site from all of the others. Whether you

are starting up a new web site aimed at bloggers or

whether you are looking to make your existing blogging

site more distinctive, the key to building and

maintaining a site that will capture the interest and

attention of the blogging community is finding your

niche. If you can fill a unique need in a way that no

other web site does, you'll be able to build a lasting

readership among web surfers. Once you have

discovered a niche, you will still have a lot to do, but

finding your place in the blogosphere is the place to

begin.

Every great blogging web site starts with a great idea,

and you can't build a successful site that will last

without one. There are many great sites aimed at

today's bloggers, and competition for the attention of

this growing demographic is fierce. To make your

blogging web site stand out from the pack, you will

need to offer something that no other site is currently

offering, or you will need to do the same thing that an

already popular site does but in a more impressive or

valuable way.

One way to discover an ideal model for your blogging

web site is to look at the sites that have successfully

captured a blogging audience already to determine if

you can appropriate some of their strategies to help

realize your vision. Of course, you will also need to add

a unique flair to your project in order to stand apart

from your competition. Many people agree that the web

sites that do the best in today's market are the sites that

have the most personality. The fiercely individual

surfers who are bloggers are a demographic that

responds especially strongly to personality, so consider

how you can give your site a unique and attractive

feeling by lending your own voice and sensibility to

your site's design and content.

Once you have a great idea for your site, have

pinpointed a special niche that you are well equipped to

fill, and have infused the site with personality, the next

step is figuring out how to get the word out to bloggers.

In the long run, a great idea just isn't enough to propel

your blogging web site to success. You will need to

draft a smart and realistic marketing plan in order to

draw readers to your site. Once you hook a blogger,

your great content will keep them coming back, but it is

vital to get that first glance or your site won't have a

chance to shine.

Blogging Tory What is it?

Blogging Tory What is it?

John Delellis

The term Blogging Tory refers to any one of the many

authors affiliated with the conservative Canadian

community known as The Blogging Tories. Today,

there are over a hundred and fifty text-based blogs

associated with the group, and there are new Blogging

Tories every day. The Tories stand as an inspiring

example of a successful online community where the

ever-increasing numbers of affiliated members enjoy a

fertile environment for discussion and debate about the

ideas that shape the face of Canada.

The majority of Tory bloggers do make political events

and topics the focus of their blogs, but not all of the

content that a Blogging Tory creates and publishes is

overtly related to the movements of the Canadian

parliament or the prime minister. Although the

community members were brought together by a shared

conservative viewpoint, the fact that not all of the

postings on all of the member's blogs focus on political

topics is one of the most exciting things about the

Blogging Tories. On any given day, the main website's

blogroll may feature postings about Olympic medalists,

a James Bond film festival in Quebec, or a comical

personal experience with a telemarketer. The idea that

having a political affiliation in common makes it

possible to have a fruitful discussion about other kinds

of topics has interesting implications for how online

communities are established and how they grow.

Blogging Topics Consolidation, Debt, and New Information Technology

John DeLellis

If you are interested in blogging, consolidation, debt, and

other financial topics are sure to appear in many of the

blogs that you regularly read. Techniques to make and

manage money are some of the most popular topics for

bloggers to explore on the web, so it is little wonder that

so many bloggers turn their attention to dealing with

debt. Falling into debt is all too easy, and getting out of

debt can be very difficult for people who do not have a

lot of financial expertise. For people who have a knack

for dealing with finances, blogging about their insights

and knowledge can be a great way to literally and

figuratively share the wealth.

If you are considering getting into blogging,

consolidation, debt, savings, and investment topics can

prove to be very fruitful things to write about. Many

professional bloggers who make a living off of their

blogs spend their days writing about money. If you

know how to court advertisers and build a blog fan

base, you can make money just by talking about money.

If you are familiar with loan consolidation, negotiating

settlements with credit card companies, or any other

financial topics, consider using your knowledge to

create a successful blog. By sharing your expertise, you

may be able to help your readers get out of debt while

you reap sizable monetary rewards for your time and

knowledge.

Blogging the New Internet Marketing Tool

Blogging the New Internet Marketing Tool

JohnDeLellis

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s.  It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one's opinion on the said page.  What started as a single-sentence commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun.  As it continues to move forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog's potential.  Here are 5 reasons why you should use blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

1.Blogging is simple.  The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging.  No skills are necessary… an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse.  It's like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your ideas, experiences, new products, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product.  If you have a PC and an Internet connection (who doesn't?) then you can blog and advertise.

2. Blogging is authentic.  In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters' claims.  However, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising.  Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience.  You definitely want to buy a tried and tested product.

3. Blogging is free.  Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as something to augment current marketing tools and thus offer it for free.   Any opportunity for free webtime is definitely a bonus especially to businesses that are starting up.  Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.

4. Blogging builds credibility.  As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs.  As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers visit your site and more bloggers link to your blogs.  As companies and professional organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

5. Blogging builds your market.  Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts.  Mom has a lot of friends, so she lets her friends know how interesting your blog site is.  But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base.  Look into the following ways to build your market through blogging:

-By using your e-mail.  Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail's popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market.  In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site.  Let them explore your site by using a short e-mail message as teaser to your blog site.  If your e-mail is on an entirely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

-By using subscription.  An easy way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blogsite.  Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address.  Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

-By understanding your readers.  Conduct a simple survey for your readers to understand their profile and advertising preferences.  Ask consumers to give you feedback on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you shared.  In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the commitment and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

-By joining a blog network –A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc.  Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject.  Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

-By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today.  As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is definitely another means of generating awareness for your readership base.  Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

Blogging Software

John DeLellis

Of all of the different kinds of programs on the market

today, many people feel that Microsoft's recently

released ASP.NET blogging software is the most

advanced. In many ways, this particular program is

more adaptable and more versatile than any other

blogging software on the market. Although most of the

people who favor the program are accomplished coders

who are familiar with programming languages like html

and C++, this new program from Microsoft is much

easier to use than a lot of other blog design software

that incorporates hands-on coding. One of the things

that makes ASP.NET stand apart from its competitors is

the fact that it allows designers to use a wide variety of

programming languages when they build a blog. This

means that a larger number of coders can realize their

dreams by programming in the language with which

they are most familiar and in which they are most

accomplished.

A lot of people have welcomed ASP.NET blogging

software with enthusiasm and with open arms.

However, that doesn't mean that the ASP.NET program

is right for everybody. If you are not familiar with

computer languages like javascript or perl, you may

find that the release of ASP.NET does not directly

affect you at all. However, if you are an experienced

web designer, you are likely to find much to celebrate in

this exciting new program.

Blogging Site Join or Not to Join

John DeLellis

Joining an established blogging site like live journal or

blogger has plenty of advantages, especially for the blog

novice. Sites that host a lot of different blogs often have

very useful tutorials about building and updating your

blog, and you are likely to encounter a very user-

friendly software interface at an established blogging

site. In addition, these sites provide a kind of instant

community of fellow bloggers who can provide advice,

insight, and feedback. These established sites often

keep directories of their members, which can be great

news for your traffic logs because it means that other

bloggers on the site will find out about your pages.

However, there are also some downsides to linking up

with a large blogging site. By posting within the

established templates of a site like blogger, you run the

risk of having your blog look and feel like everybody

else's. The blogging movement is very much about the

creation of distinctive sites and the development of

individual voices, so it makes plenty of sense that many

bloggers would shy away from the cookie-cutter look

and feel that these blogging sites often promote. Many

bloggers feel that the content of a blog is what makes it

distinctive, not the look of the blog, but many members

of the blogging community feel that the visual impact

of a blog should match the originality of the writing.

Blogging Profit Begins With a Long Term Plan

John DeLellis

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal

is not far beyond the reach of someone with average

intellegence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic

grasp of blogging technology. However, very few

people manage to reap the profits they want from their

blog. Most people who attempt to make money with

their blogs do not succeed for two reasons. Often,

bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their

readership will grow and how much money they will

make, and when these expectations are not met the

disappointment can crush the desire to continue

blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into

has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a

profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a

realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that

you will need is a large readership. The higher your

traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you.

However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will

need in order to make a profit isnt easy. As more and

more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a

wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get

attention. You need to be able to market your blog

effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts

and almost no time marketing their project. To be

certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to

keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog

search engines like technorati, and once your readers

know that you update frequently they will return to your

site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how

often you update if nobody is reading your page, so dont

skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to

your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a

reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using

some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up

link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in

the blog community, and following other established

modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a

really great idea for a blog, success is not going to

happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that

blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all

likelihood it will be at least several months before you

are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed

to your blogging project during this initial rough period.

To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will

update and how many readers you want to attract, and

then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.
